Milan's Gattuso casts doubt over Fabregas transfer - We cannot do what we want
The midfielder is out of agreement toward the finish of the season, however, may not wind up in Serie A because of Milan's Financial Fair Play limitations
Air conditioning Milan director Gennaro Gattuso has uncovered that it may not be feasible for the Serie A side to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The 31-year-old has played only five Premier League amusements this season, with the majority of his appearances for the Blues coming in glass rivalries. Fabregas' agreement at Stamford Bridge lapses in the mid-year and accordingly, he could leave the club after five seasons.
"We have stakes. We can't do what we need," Gattuso told DAZ. "The club has been clear. Fabregas? There are critical figures included."
In spite of the fact that he has not marked another arrangement at Chelsea, director Maurizio Sarri might want Fabregas to remain at the club past the January exchange window.
"In this position, we have just two players, Jorginho and Fabregas, so for me, it would be extremely an issue without Cesc," Sarri said.
"I need him to remain, I don't have the foggiest idea about an ultimate conclusion of Cesc and the club obviously.
"Yet, for me it's critical and if Cesc will go I feel that we have to purchase another player, and it is difficult on the grounds that, in fact, Cesc is an essential player.
"Furthermore, I believe that in the market it's extremely hard to discover a player with his attributes."
Chelsea's policy is to only offer one-year contracts to players over 30, which could prove a stumbling block in Sarri's plan to retain the midfielder. Fabregas will be allowed to sign a pre-contract with another club in January, securing a transfer for the 2019-20 season.
In November, Fabregas denied that Milan had made an approach, but indicated that he would consider any offers which may come in January.
"I haven't spoken to anyone," Fabregas told reporters. "Obviously, in January I can sign with whoever I want and probably this will attract many clubs. But, so far, from what I can say right now, yes I will stay here until the end of the season."
